Park City – In its annual rankings, Chambers and Partners honored intellectual property and litigation law firm Maschoff Brennan. The accolades were released Friday in the 2017 edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. Shareholders Larry Laycock and Eric Maschoff were also recognized in the publication.
Chambers USA recognized Maschoff Brennan in the area of intellectual property for the state of Utah. According to the Chamber’s website, Maschoff Brennan is known for being a “Growing IP boutique, increasingly active on behalf of nationally significant clients. Active in both prosecution and enforcement work, with particular expertise in information technology. Team also comprises attorneys with experience in pharmaceutical and medical device IP matters.”
Maschoff serves as the managing partner of the firm. His practice focuses on a variety of matters including strategic counseling, licensing and patent preparation and prosecution. He also assists clients with the acquisition and enforcement of patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret rights, computer and multimedia law, and administrative actions before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and U.S. Copyright Office. Maschoff received his J.D. from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. He holds a B.S. in electrical and computer engineering from New Mexico State University.
Laycock’s practice includes patent, trademark, trade secret, trade dress, copyright, and related complex litigation matters. He also has substantial experience in appellate, transactional, licensing, and legal opinion preparation for intellectual property matters. Laycock has counseled clients regarding a wide range of technologies, including pharmaceutical, chemical, biotechnology and life sciences, electronic data storage, medical devices, nutritional supplements, exercise equipment, and thin film deposition, among others. He received his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. He also holds a B.A. in English from BYU.
