Salt Lake City – The Best Lawyers in America© released its annual listings Monday and named five Maschoff Brennan attorneys to the list. Those listed in the 2016 edition of The Best Lawyers in America© include Eric L. Maschoff, Sterling A. Brennan, Larry R. Laycock, David R. Wright and R. Parrish Freeman.
Maschoff was listed in Best Lawyers® under Patent Law for the eighth consecutive year. He focuses his practice on strategic counseling, licensing and patent procurement in the computer, electronics, semiconductor, communications software and Internet fields. Maschoff serves as the Managing Member of the firm. He received his J.D. from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, where he also serves as an adjunct professor of law. He is also listed in Chambers USA for intellectual property and Mountain States Super Lawyers, and was named Best Lawyers’ 2014-15 Salt Lake City Patent Law “Lawyer of the Year.”
Brennan, who is admitted to practice in both California and Utah, and is based in the firm’s California office, was named in the area of Litigation – Intellectual Property. His practice covers a variety of complex litigation matters, including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, antitrust, securities, and other business litigation. He received his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. Brennan is also listed in Super Lawyers and has been recognized as a California Lawyer of the Year for IP litigation.
Laycock was listed in Best Lawyers® for Patent Law. His practice focuses on complex and intellectual property litigation including patent, trademark, trade secret, trade dress and copyright. He also has experience in appellate, transactional, licensing and preparation of legal opinions as it pertains to intellectual property. He received his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. Laycock is also listed in Chambers USA for Intellectual Property and he has been named in Mountain States Super Lawyers since 2007.
Wright is a first chair complex and intellectual property litigator. He is listed in Best Lawyers® in the area of Litigation – Intellectual Property. He concentrates his practice on patent, trademark and infringement cases, as well as disputes involving contract and licensing disputes, false advertising, unfair competition, and theft of trade secrets. He received his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. He is also listed in Mountain States Super Lawyers.
Freeman makes his second appearance in the Best Lawyers® list for Litigation – Patent and Litigation – Intellectual Property, and his first for Trademark Law. His practice is focused on litigation of patent, trademark and other intellectual property and commercial matters. Freeman represents clients at the trial and appellate level, and in inter partes matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He received his J.D. from Campbell University School of Law.
