Maschoff Brennan recently announced that Jim Lundberg has joined the firm as a member. Also, Tyson Hottinger and Mark Ford have been elected as firm members.
JIM LUNDBERG
Jim Lundberg (Salt Lake City) focuses his practice on complex business and intellectual property litigation involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, securities, antitrust, and unfair business practices.
Mr. Lundberg has spent over 20 years managing dispute resolution and litigation as in-house counsel for a major technology firm, where he was also responsible for numerous technology licensing and compliance matters, intellectual property protection and disputes, and all manner of corporate transactions—including due diligence on mergers and acquisitions, advising on business strategies, and compliance with international and U.S. regulatory requirements.
Mr. Lundberg also has extensive experience and training in alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration and mediation. He has successfully served as a mediator for numerous complex commercial and technology licensing disputes.
Previously, Mr. Lundberg served as a law clerk in the United States District Court for the District of Arizona. He is a member of the Utah State Bar, the Arizona State Bar, and the American Bar Association.
TYSON HOTTINGER
Tyson Hottinger (Orange County) has a broad range of litigation experience, including patent, trademark, trade dress, trade secret, unfair business practices, breach of contract, receiverships, commercial finance, securities, and products liability. His most recent accomplishments include first-chairing a trial that resulted in a favorable settlement, obtaining a preliminary injunction protecting a client’s trade secrets, obtaining several permanent injunctions protecting clients’ patent rights, and obtaining summary judgment on behalf of a factoring company.
Mr. Hottinger has been selected as a “Rising Star” by Southern California Super Lawyers, he is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California and Utah, and has been admitted in several other federal courts across the country.
Mr. Hottinger’s education includes a J.D., with honors, from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah in 2007, and a B.S. degree in Finance from the University of Utah in 2004. He is a member of the California State Bar, the Utah State Bar, the Orange County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
MARK FORD
Mark Ford (Park City) has practiced law with an emphasis in the area of intellectual property since 2005. Mr. Ford represents clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in post-grant proceedings, including inter-partes reviews and reexamination proceedings. Mr. Ford is also an experienced litigation attorney, having represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of industries and technologies including fitness equipment, electrical and electromechanical systems, dental devices, and computer software and hardware.
Mr. Ford’s education includes a J.D. from George Mason University in 2005, and a B.A. in Chemistry with a Minor in Electronics Engineering Technology from Brigham Young University in 2001. Mr. Ford is a member of the Utah State Bar and the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA). He is a registered patent attorney and has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a 2014 Mountain States Rising Star.
