Maschoff Brennan Moves to Gold Band in IAM Patent 1000

Park City – IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Professionals listed six Maschoff Brennan attorneys including Eric Maschoff, Kevin Johanson, Burns Israelsen, Richard Gilmore, Larry Laycock and Sterling Brennan.  The annual rankings also mentioned Maschoff Brennan in its gold band of patent firms in Utah. “Boutique Maschoff Brennan ascends to gold this year thanks to effusive market feedback,” the publication said.

The IAM Patent 1000 develops the list of patent professionals through a research process that includes client feedback. According to IAM’s website, “Individuals qualify for a listing in the IAM Patent 1000 when they receive sufficient positive feedback from peers and clients with knowledge of their practice and the market within which they operate.”

Maschoff focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, strategic counseling and licensing. IAM Patent 1000 said that he is “widely respected for his sage prosecution and licensing guidance.” He received his J.D. from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. He also holds a B.S. in electrical and computer engineering from New Mexico State University.

Johanson advises clients on patent portfolio strategies along with patent preparation and prosecution. He received his J.D. from Arizona State University College of Law and he also holds a M.S. and B.S. in electrical engineering.

Israelsen assists clients with corporate patent portfolio strategies, along with patent preparation and prosecution domestically and internationally. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Utah State University.

Gilmore focuses on trademark and patent preparation and prosecution. He works alongside clients to maintain trademark and patent portfolios. He received his J.D. from the S.J. Quinney College of Law and he also received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah.

Laycock’s practice focuses on complex and intellectual property litigation including patent, trademark, trade secret and other complex matters. He received his J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. He also holds a B.A. in English from BYU.
