Maschoff Brennan Elects Five New Shareholders

Shareholders at Utah-based Maschoff Brennan named five new shareholders to the firm, effective Jan. 1, including Ian Atzet, Jason Croft, Michael Howell, Rachel Jacques and Adam Smoot.

Atzet focuses his practice on patent preparation and prosecution, patentability opinions, trademark searches and clearance opinions and nn-infringement and invalidity opinions.  He received his J.D., with high honors, from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah.

Croft’s practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, IP transactions and IP due diligence. Croft received his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law and his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah. Prior to  joining Maschoff Brennan, Croft worked at a Silicon Valley-based law firm.

Howell’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, commercial litigation and breach of contract issues. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University and his B.S. from BYU.

Jacques’ practice is focused on trademark and patent litigation, trademark prosecution, intellectual property license agreements and UDRP proceedings. Jacques received her J.D., with honors, from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah and her B.S. in psychology also from the University of Utah.

Smoot’s practice is focused on post-grant proceedings, patent prosecution and complex IP litigation. He received his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, with honors. Smoot holds a B.S. in biomedical engineering from the University of Utah, summa cum laude.
